Youve got 2 reverse btw, but reverse high is a bear to steer especially with a loaded trailer, and good luck getting it there going uphill loaded :p

I'm old fashioned and if I'm loaded I do split most. I have a series 60 and they appreciate it. I call the hi range 5-8 and the splits direct or over. So 13 is 8th over.

I do all those nevers. The stupid Crapcadias I was delivering would shift into neutral if you were coming down a hill and didn't have your foot on either the brake or the throttle. I'll let my truck coast in neutral at 25 mph coming to a stop sign. Shifting while turning a spread axle doesn't work out too well.

If you are in top gear with a 13 speed are you in 13th gear or are you in 8th od? Depends on the generation of driver.
Just like the old twin sticks 4x4 was never a 16 speed it was 1low, 1under, 1 direct, 1 over and then shift to 2nd gear and repeat and so on up to total of 16. But no one said i’m in 16th. It was always i’m in 4th over.

Don’t forget the extra hidden fifth. I don’t use either.

On a 13 you would have 3 reverse wouldn't you?

It’s harder to learn trying to match a number to a speed.

Yes... This is very true... The only gear I know a speed for is the high side of hole 7... That's my town gear, AKA 35 MPH.

I cant coast to a stop in neutral... For one reason, I would've got slapped upside the head if I did that with my trainer (my dad) in the right seat. And I sometimes have a dificult time grabbing a gear in low range from neutral while coasting... Especially if my tank is surging pretty good.
