Which pair of work boots should I buy?

I personally like Thorogood Wellington Pull on composite toe work boots. Made in USA.

Schneider does offer a few boot options during the orientation that are actually pretty decent quality and are a bargain at $50, which they will take out of your first check. Not saying don't get your own if that's what you want, but if you're not aware, they do have boots available at a discount at the orientation.

 

I bought a nice pair of boots when I first started driving trucks (after 20 years as a coach bus driver wearing dress shoes) and before my first week was over, switched to sneakers. That was four years ago, and the only change was the addition of rubber overshoes for places with mud. As a dry van driver, I honestly never find myself needing more than that.

When I go shopping for boots I just find the most expensive ones in the store and try them on.

I have wide feet , and have to have a triple E width . None of the lower priced boots have wide versions

for non steel toe I like timberland Chukka hiking boots
I wear them everyday
Prefer them over tennis shoes .

 

Steel toe are very cold in winter. Get composite toe, just as protective, but warm.

I like the Cintas Airdisc composite or Reebok composite toe. They have the sturdy sole & toe protection, but in an athelic shoe. More comfortable for flexing your foot. Cintas.com

 

You got me. I scoured their website and then it dawned on me what was going on when I could only find one "article" about them.

 

I don't generally wear boots. I do have some that I will wear if I am going out in the country. I am interested in getting a pair of boots that are snake resistant to go along with my snake chaps. Last year I had a small Copperhead attempt to bite me after I stepped on the little guy. Had I been wearing my normal shoes I would have been bitten. My son-in-law wants me to start hiking with him in the Sandy Bottom park here in Hampton roads. This park has both Copperheads and Timber Rattlers all over it. I need some good boots for this.
