Yeah, it would suck if Love's built a better and cleaner truck stop literally a stone's throw from the already existing Pilot that is next door, or the Flying J across the interstate. It would also be much more terrible than the already existing ODFL, FedEx, and YRC terminals that are already there. And surely WAY worse than living just North of a silicon manufacturer and a chemical manufacturer. Looks like a quiet little town until you zoom the map out and realize it's right next to an interchange where two major interstates meet.

Red pin on the left is where Love's is going.

It's not even close to their town in regards to complaints about diesel smell, noise, etc. They live closer to two terminals, and far closer to the interstate than the planned truck stop. Capture36.PNG

And the huge open-pit mine on the edge of town isn't an eyesore, either.

I think where maps places the pin is wrong. Looking at pics from some of the news stories, I think the Loves is going where the semicircle pivot is located, right near the exit. That does put it literally across the street from those houses. SmartSelect_20220803-140640_Google.jpg

That doesn't invalidate your other points, which are still valid.

Edit: it struck me in the shower how "Deep Thoughts" that last sentence came out! LOL

Could be. I went on Love's job posting site and got the address of 216090 Nissler Road, Butte, MT.

Did the same. Then I saw the pic of the equipment on site. And frankly that location right at that exit makes much more sense anyways

If them residents put their energy into a trucking related service industry they could be wealthy and miserable instead of just miserable.

If it's going in that semi-circle, I'd be pissed too.

One article mentioned part of the Love's wasn't affected by Ramsay zoning, but part of the property was in their zone. If that's the case, it might be in that field. Check out their zone.
