If I remember correctly with a bunk on it it should be either 3.5 or 4 lbs ..with small condenser

I'd figure 3.25lbs ish. You replacing the drier and orifice tube too?

Goes into the high side line INTO the evaporator. I would replace while open. If the compessor grenaded, it's likely full of metal.
