Me personally i wouldve thrown 1 strap over each stack if i was headed to scale out or whatever. Moving around at 5mph its ok. Definatly wouldnt roll around without any securement at all. Thats just asking for the #### to fall off

He had 2 more straps then I would have. You have to be quite the ####up to lose a low load of lumber on the yard at idle speeds.

Depends on material for me, low lumber neatly stacked like that, doesnt bother me.

Neatly stacked but 5 foot high steel tube, completely different matter

I'd be okay with that from the loading spot to the scales or the tie down area. No further.

My trainee from this week was making a left into this pilot. He a) curbed the HECK out of the drivers side tandems and b) was on track to drop the right side of the trailer off the scale before I stopped him.

I let him hit the curb because he was going to climb the curb square on the tread so he wouldn't be able to damage anything except the grass. I stopped him just before to illustrate that he wasn't watching his trailer. There shouldn't have been anyway that he could have missed getting onto the scale, yet he did. Letting the idiot make (non-fatal) mistakes can either be a learning experience or prove to the idiot he isn't ready to go solo.

Thankfully this idiot is being sent home. It doesn't mean much as some 1099 company will hire him and he will the idiot who hits the trailers on both his sight side and blind side while ripping his oil pan off on the curb, but I did what I could.

There's a gazillion rigs out there that have no reason for a door mirror to be installed.
