It could have been one small piece held down by one strap.
Or simply one piece straps get loose in route say do to load shifting or sinkage on crappy dunnage.

Things also expand and contract due to temperature changes.

That and more is why you're supposed check the load and securement in route regardless how good you think u did it in the first place.
    Robots cant do everything.

Anything that isn't blocked or braced or up against a headboard needs a penalty strap. So u should never have 1 strap on anything that's just sitting on the deck by itself. No matter the weight or length. U should know this as a flatbedder.

You’re overthinking it. It will be cables with edge protection or metal bands, like what they do on rail cars. There won’t be rubber bungees to break and have tarps flapping because the load will be wrapped and heat shrunk like rail cars and boats. Not everything had to be exactly like it is now. Things will change and evolve.

Chief you're in Fantasyland. Because there's a lot of redundancy in load securement. Second. I'm sure they will have sensors and cameras keeping an eye on it. If something happens. They send out roadside service. Just like if you get a flat.

Today's auctions just show whats comin. Subjectively speaking, yes, cheap.

That class of truck might be 10k in 2 more months.

No reason to jump on a purchase now. Hold that cash.

Should be some good buys by Christmas
