Why was he banned?

 

He gave some spectacularly bad advice in a thread by a new driver, then got snippy when he was called out for it.

If I recall correctly, he boasted about "clearing out his ignore list to make room" for the people who were correctly telling him he was full of it.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back. The mods bent over backwards making allowances for him for a couple of years before the hammer dropped.

 

Actually x1heavy DID NOT get banned. He left on his own. Even said good bye.

So they "made allowances" for him over opposing viewpoints or opinions. Banning people over differences of opinion sounds quite strange and ironically Orwellian to me.
