Truck is sitting with it's original owner, 600,XXX KM, 550 Cat no idea on Engine code. 18 speed, not sure on the rest of the specs, waiting on the VIN to call Pete dealer. The mice have made a nice home in the truck, not sure if wiring is good or not. Will need rubber all around and I'm guessing brakes, air lines, bushings, seals and on and on. Would like to plug it in to verify mileage and originality of the engine. Owner says it hasn't been opened up so?

Bottom line, it's sexy as hell and would be a project with occasional use for my business and a hot rod toy. What would be the range of value for this truck in 2022?

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than a few grand. Sounds like its not driveable as is and probably full of mouse turds (and possibly a crap ton of wiring issues due to said mice).

Another Canadian driver and kah68 Thank this.

Yeah I don't think he would take ' a few grand '. I know there could be issues for sure but I thought a pre emission 379 / C15 would bring some decent money even if they need work. I could be way off base though.

Post a pic...If you can .. like @AModelCat said it's gonna need alot of work and alot of $$$$
From what you posted....not knowing condition of the frame or paint and assuming those are both good .. and you have a big tool box & your really good with a muliti- meter & test light and know your way around a Cat motor and are willing to drink heavily

If we're playing the price is right ..15k on avg....JMO
You got nothing more than a bare bones rolling skeleton
Plugging it in won't tell you anything about the condition of the drive train
I hate to do this to him cause his my friend .. but Wore out can tell ya what you up against and what it's worth in the real world. The 379s are not in my comfort zone it's too new for me

It's clearner than I thought .. it's got alot of chrome and lights .. there's probably 2500 in chrome & lights .. ( if they work )... the paint looks like a good buff would be ok...
To me if it was road worthy with good rubber and mechanically sound and passed a DOT inspection.. it's a 60 to 65k.truck in the real world.. but the motor is gonna need freshed up and interior and tires & brakes.. you might get all that done for 45k maybe.... but that still leaves your electrical gremlins to deal with ...next question ..what size rubber is on it ? ..

Well being an 02 means it’s most likely got the holy grail 6NZ since it’s a 550. I personally think they are over rated. Not saying they are not good I mean it’s a CAT but it’s not the end all be all they make it out to be. 1 owner makes it more valuable, 18 speed and tall rubber all help. The specs are there. It looks straight and well dressed again a plus. For the cons the mouse damage without knowing it’s extent it’s hard to access damage. I have seen complete harness destroyed. I have seen it ignored and a fire in a short period. They also get behind the interior panels and talk about stink when it rains........honestly are you a gambler? Just looking at the truck you’ll be lucky to get it for 30k would I give it absolutely not. But I don’t need a truck. I guarantee you someone will. It’s amazing how they can look past the damage right in front of their face. People also spend crazy amounts of needless money on trucks that been sitting to prevent roadside failures. Lots a times causing the very thing they wish to prevent by letting a butcher do the work cheaply. I wish you the best but odds are he knows what he has or it’s advertised and the bid war is about to begin by the uninformed. All they see or care about is outside and American Class interior as well as the great 6NZ
