Find some economically feasible way to protect the fuel island from those that feel the need to squat there and you’ll become wealthy.

A lot of parking. Good restaurant. The best food, imo, is found at the small non three major truck stops. That would be a start for me.

Very good point. I’d like to add that a good model for food selection is the profitable Kwik Stop that operates in a few midwestern states. They understand drivers need to eat something other than garbage.

Buddy I hear ya. I use the end-cap lite-class pumps, and what you are talking about even infuriates me to see!

And they walk away right in front of you when they do!

Back in the mid 60's (yes I'm old) several of the truck stops we fueled at would fuel the truck for us then move it to a parking area for the trucks that had just been fueled. We could eat a meal (yes they had good sit-down restaurants with designated driver area back then) or take a shower before you had to move. If you were going to be there a while, we would move the truck to the regular parking area.

A truck stop with a girl behind the counter as drop dead gorgeous as the one who worked at the Loves in Matthews, MO. I couldn't approach the counter. She took the oxygen from my lungs just looking at her.

I was just a sprout when you were getting fuel & grub, but I darn well do remember those roadside joints with truckers only signs.

That was when sprouts looked up to truckers, they were respected men, dressed sharp, courteous cowby attitudes (well, except for when at the honky-tonk, lol).

Jeez ..... what happened to us .....

Oh fer Petes sake, see what I mean about what happened? This forum's Nancy algorithm edits any variation of the written word in this sign ...

More mom and pops that the megas can't fuel at because their fuel approval won't let them fuel there:D and the highest priority is a nice sit down restaurant with good looking waitress'.

I'm local so I really don't stop to eat much (mainly because there ain't #### but junk fast food) but if there was more good restaurants I'd stop every day for a good lunch
