*If* speed limiters are required how will it affect you?

I spend alot of time on the 2 lanes anyhow .. it's a better view and eliminates alot of problems .. I don't feel bad I won't get to see all this carnage these guys are talking about that's going to happen
I much rather read about it than seen it anyway .. I've seen enough of it in my life as it is

 

Lol it's capitalism causing this. It's not about "equality." It's about making the job miserable enough that you quit and they can replace you with a robot. Driver pay is the biggest expense most companies have. Imagine how much a company would save not having to pay someone that needs breaks or gets sick or needs to eat or pay bills. Plop down the cash for a tin can that can run 24/7/365 barring a breakdown or accident(which, yeah will happen, at least early on).

 

Idk how it'll affect me. I hope it doesn't, that I'm out of this godforsaken industry. They want to improve safety? Have stricter licensing requirements, for everyone, not just truckers, and invest in public transportation. Get the vehicles off the roads. Not exactly rocket science.

and back then trucks were doing well to have 300hp engines with 9 speed Road Rangers but professional drivers still managed to get the job done

We got dragged in as we are living with speed limited trucks and have been for over 30 years. The world didn't stop, in fact accidents decreased. Roads have improved over that time for sure. Now we have 500, 600 - 700hp trucks with auto 18 speed RR's, the fcukers don't even slow down for hills .

Naively we thought some might appreciate our experiences, but the Chicken Little's will just continue to scream 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling'

I didn’t know you knew me… I don’t believe I have ever screamed Australia, not once, ever. I’ve been all over the world. Many different countries and Australia was awesome, but I don’t run around screaming your home countries name for any reason. The women are awesome, the clubs were crazy, I got a tattoo there, a friend sent me an Akubra hat a few years ago, but I don’t scream Australia…

Blinders? I’m to busy dodging all the bewwwlllshizle in the USA to be wearing blinders or worrying about other countries right now.. you know we have our own #### problems here and sometimes we should all just worry about our own backyard…

 

No one is saying to run a hundred miles an hour. But if the speed limit is 70 why are you against me running the speed limit?
