Was planning on going to Schneider, but I got a call saying they can't hire me due to an out of service ticket I received driving box trucks a few years ago. There were no accidents, but I didnt have a CDL and the truck didnt classify as a Non CDL.

So, my question is, which company do you recommend I drive for?

I am 21, new CDL A Automatic only restriction

I want to drive either Dry Van or Reefer. Prefer OTR like 1 week or 2 weeks out on the road, then few days off, but local / regional may work too.

I prefer a company that doesn't have a team driving "training" period, that lasts like 2 months. I wanted to go with Schneider at first, because of the short 3 weeks training and I hit the road, since I learn better on my own anyways.

Also, the company orientation should be local to New York, where I can drive, either in NY, NJ, CT, PA.

I have an option through family, where I can drive a tanker, and they will train me with everything, but that's like last resort, tbh. I want driving experience first, before I jump into tanker which will be local

No matter where you go, there will be some form of training time. Each company has its policies on the time.(read insurance) Probably better to just take the tank job with the family connection. Sure, it’s going to have pros and cons. Thing to consider is that your probably get the job with minimal runaround.
