Freighliner chassis extended storage - appreciate your advice

    Hello all,

    I have a 2010 RV on a freight liner chassis with a Cummins ISB 6.7 CM2150 with 10,000 miles.
    I’m concerned that not moving it regularly may create some issues. It’s an RV and I’m getting old and sits on a lake lot, with a deck on one side. Don’t want to move it unless necessary, because it’s a pain in the ###.
    I do start it about 4 times a year and run for about an hour. Use diesel conditioner and change oil and filter. What should I be doing different?

    I'd cover the tires and any airlines/wiring in the back end that are exposed to sunlight. UV breaks down rubber/plastic over time. Maybe some curtains or something to keep the sun off the interior.

    I had a front wheel bearing get pitted once, after the Truck sat for 4 months. Mechanic caught it by spinning the wheels while the Truck was in the air, on a frame straightening rack. You could hear a scuffing sound that came and went while spinning the wheel since only half the bearing was pitted. The top half that wasn’t submerged in oil while sitting. Only happened on one outer bearing on a steer. Surprised that it happened in such a short time. It was very pitted. Obviously the way to avoid it would be to rotate the wheels occasionally, so oil gets on the bearings.
