I am a recent truck driving school graduate and got a job with a company. I worked for 2 months busting my ### delivering and stocking shelves for a soda company. There was a 90 day probationary period and after 50 days they unceremoniously terminated me. I had crunched an unoccupied car in a parking lot and immediately called it in and called the police for a report. There was no citation issued. I'm guessing that was the reason for termination but I know other drivers who were not fired for getting in accidents. This has now made it almost impossible le to find a job with my CDL A . Should I just not mention I worked for them?
Do you put a job that lasted 2 months on your resume if you were terminated?

I wouldn’t. If it was a non DOT reportable incident and no official report of it exists other than the employers word then why bother. Nothing would be on your PSP or HireRight so any subsequent future employer wouldn’t know. You’d just be shooting yourself in the foot using that company as a reference after only working there 2 months then getting fired. Just leave that off

If you "crunched" a parked car and your co's insurance paid for damage, there will be a record of it in the cyber world as well as your DAC report, if it was reported. Almost any truck co freaks at any driver who hits anything. Traffic ticket, late on delivery, paperwork late.......not that big a deal. But, any drugs or collision in your portfolio, bad news. Reporting live from the moderators desk, back to you.....
ColoradoLinehaul, nredfor88, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this. -
Anyone telling you not to report it is living in the 80's.
Here is what will happen if you don't report it.
Company conditionally hires you. You go in to orientation. You get sent for a physical and urine test..
All come back good.
They then give your name to their insurance company. Insurance company comes back with the wreck.
You are now not hired, and because the first thing you did in orientation is sign tons of paperwork, one of them says you have to pay for the physical and drug test if you leave before 90 days.
(Ok, the paying for on boarding might not happen, but the insurance lookup will)LilRedRidingHood, ColoradoLinehaul, Puppage and 1 other person Thank this. -
Keep this short phrase in the back of your mind.
“You’re only as good as your last load.”
How did that last load work out?
Call one of the Mega’s. One of them will hire you. Get their training under your belt, then move on.
Anything is better then humping cases of soda off a trailer into a store then having to deal with a 25 year old store manager.Last edited: Aug 20, 2022

Humping Cases of product, yeah I gave that a go about 3 different times at a Papa Johns D.C. in Goldsboro, NC. Night AND Day Deliveries. 450+ Pound Dolly. 23+ Hours ON DUTY, start to finish.
I was in me latter 50's for the above for a LOT of RIDING, NOT much DRIVING, yet Start to Finish ON-DUTY in my Comic Book.

2 months "driving" and had a accident, well, good luck, yet there should be a company to give you a start over.
WE Could NOT/Can NOT Hide From DAC/Hireright, especially if one is Haz-Mat Endorsed.
You want more road time?

Whether you list it or not, you have to meet the company's underwriting policies. Not listing it, however, means there is a chance that you would have gotten an offer with it listed, but now you falsified the application as well. Lying by omission is the same as saying you worked for a company with no record of your existence.
Unless there is a gravel outfit nearby looking to hire a side or end dump operator, you're probably not going to get another local job for a while. Suck it up, call the megas, and one of them will hire you. Probably a second-chance place like Western Express. Stick it out to get 2 years between the current date and your wreck, and you'll be good to go, provided you didn't hit anything else along the way.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
My experiences with accidents that have occurred on private property, the police takes the attitude, "let the insurance companies fight it out". Now, there are exceptions with reference to private property, such as reckless driving charges or DUIAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.
