If they call you make sure you ask for a detailed description of the drone.

    like any numbers on it.

anyone that owns a drone should have the serial number on the control unit, to match the drone.

    or he can do this

Some drones have QR codes that you can scan with your phone so that you can be directed to the drone owner's identity in case the drone is lost and then found.

now that i think of it, you said you left your name and number at the Pilot?

you should have just left the drone there as well, and let them deal with it.

if you find the owner, or he finds you, he can claim you damaged his drone, and you'd have no proof what it looked like before you found it.

as a trucker do you really have the time to deal with this finding of the owner?? and meeting up with him..?? contacting the FAA..???

it was mentioned in the article i posted, to just turn it over to a police officer.

now you might be in a world of accusations from the owner. you got time to go to court.??

    maybe face FAA fines..???

good luck, maybe next time, just walk away?

If he gave it to pilot the cashier would probably steal it, and I doubt the owner would accuse him of damaging it, they’d just be glad to have it back. I think OP did the right thing.

Yup not sure why I would leave it at Pilot. It wasn't on their property. What in hot H3ll do they have to do with it in terms of custody?

BTW I called out on Channel 19 numerous times. Nobody knew anything

he is quoted as saying, he left his number at the Pilot.....then leave the dang drone there too. and so what if a Pilot employee steals it..?? it's outta his hands and hair.

several a day here......neighbors are probably cooking meth, the explosion will confirm this later.

but, you left your name at the Pilot, drop it in thier hands....

A week after last Christmas our neighbor that has property next door came up to the fence and told my wife his grandson was flying his brand new drone Christmas morning and the wind caught it and blew it over our property and way passed our house and crashed somewhere on the other side six acres over.

so she goes over there to look for it and finds it in a billion chewed up pieces. The dogs got to it first. Oh well.

She told him you shoulda called us right then and there not wait a week to tell us.

reminds me of an episode of, "The Big Bang Theory", where one guy has a fancy new drone, and his buddy takes it all apart, and cannot put it all back together.
