That depends on weather or not it is over valued, as much real estate is right now.

I mean putting the building on land you own. Every piece of property I bought, I estimated the value of it when I might want to sell. Not only what the asking price today is.
The cyclic nature of the economy, if you can ride the market back up after a decline, most people recover most of any perceived lost value of an asset. During that time you get to use the asset or earn with it. Because a person only loses money if you sell an asset below the purchase price.

That would be tough. Or hauling the last load of a farm because the kids didn’t want to continue the tradition. That would be emotional for a rancher I assume.

I went to be a company driver at a private carrier. But didn’t sell the truck and trailer, its my security blanket.
Not looking at loadboards and taking to brokers every day has been great for my mental health.

The biggest concern I have is being able to maintain payments in an economic downturn. Trucking isn't exactly the most stable buisness in the world as we all know.

Yes them dang payments. That's why I don't have a building. I keep saving for one, then something else demands my savings spent.
Now that I'm close to retiring. I will get by with out a shed.

I gotta say I could continue. I don’t run far or make a ton per week. Money wasn’t the most important from the start. It was the schedule and doing things MY way.

I loaded late Tuesday and will be home tomorrow night. Slept at home 3 days during that stretch. Made decent money too. It’s not doom and gloom. I just want to step away……..mostly because of people. And this ####### truck.
