I’ll take a few good pulls to save the 60 extra miles staying on 90.

18 is both 2 and 4 lane but that shouldn’t matter for you if you’re under 11’ wide there’s no escort requirement.

I90 thru montana is easy. Although if u never run the rockies it can be a bit intimidating. I ran it everyday for over 2 years. Ur hills are gonna be bozeman hill in bozeman mt, not to big. Then going west, the pass over in Whitehall, a bit of a climb then go down, not super big.
Then homestake pass which is a pretty big climb. going down take it easy, those turns can creep up on u if not careful. With 100k pounds on its gonna be quite the pull... That hill is in butte mt.. Your next pass is lookout pass on the border of idaho, another big pull, and some turns going down, take it easy.. In idaho u have 4th of july pass, smaller than lookout but still a bit of a pull... Next pass is the one over in the gorge in washington .. U go over a bridge over water and seems like you pull it for 10 miles or more... Then snoqualmie which you just go downhill going west , but watch ur speed going down its easy to let it get away from you if u not paying attention... Other then that , nothing to it. Pretty flat drive from sioux falls sd to western montana... I wouldnt hesitate to run it. Its pretty easy running.. All the passes have plenty of room being an interstate... As for hwy 18 it is 2 lane road and kinda tight , i seen oversize on it before but not sure how wide they were... Its the secret route to bypass seattle and grt from i90 to i5.. It will drop u right into fife if u are able to take it

Yeah ive been all over the west except across I90 west of whatever city where I29 and I90 intersect in South Dakota. I even remember I stopped at a small flying J on US30, that was about 15 years ago though lol. I just hadn't been on that stretch of 90 from Ellenburg to South Dakota.. And definitely not with any weight. Did I read it right, homestake pass is 7 to 9 percent(It didnt tell me how many miles it was)

Not sure what it is climbing up but 7-9 sounds about right. Its a pretty hard pull. Its about 3 miles going up and probably 2 miles going down... Going down has some sharp curves and some truck drivers like to haul ### down that hill. But really its nothing to it if u been thru the mountains before. Theres some big osow loads run thru there everyday

I’d go up and run across 90. I’ve been staying on the interstate and taking the extra miles instead of 212. Used to be not much traffic and you could blast across there but anymore everyone’s gps must be sending them that way.

Going west Homestake Pass isn’t much. It’s a decent pull but going down the west side isn’t anything to really worry about. Westbound doesn’t have any truck speed limits like the it does going down the east side.

Other than that, if you can’t sleep at your delivery I’d suggest reserving a spot in North Bend a couple days before you’re gonna be there. That’s about your last decent shot, you can’t park at the junction of 90 and 18 anymore.

Yes for clarification on that particular issue. In regards to Wyoming.

Get the phone number to the scale on the route that you are entering Wyoming. Call at minimum an hour before you get there.

Give them all the details they will give you a clearance number.

That clearance number is valid for 3 days in most cases that I know of.

Show up to the scale they will possibly measure you and weigh you sometimes they just glance at it.

Then pony up the cash and they cough up the permit.

This only changes when you get stupid big or stupid heavy and you need a letter.

Also a lot of OSOW loads do go on WA18, but I'm unsure of where they draw the line on that one. I always request it when it is possible.

Ok I was late on that.....

    Anyway....

    I-80 US30 I-15 I84 etc

Is a regular route for us. And I always go through there to avoid utah

There's a few hills that way but honestly nothing scary.

I90 wins the pretty factor tho......

Worth a go if you've never seen it

    Just for clarification sake:

    I80, US 30, I15, I86, I84. I know it's pretty obvious but thought I better throw that in there.
