I don't like getting out west. I don't like the NE either, I generally get my best miles running midwest to SE. Even into PA and OH is ok, just keep me off of i95, lol

    Woobie and newbietrucker91 Thank this.

I was over 33k for the bonus for the 2nd qtr, sitting at around 22k right now this qtr. It's been pretty steady for me

Only way for me to avoid the West and East is to change to regional. Regional out of Texas doesn't hit any of the West coast states and only goes as far as Tennessee Eastbound.

I was considering Crete/Shaffer for awhile because they tout that half their drivers make 6 figures, which was really tempting. But I'm also smart enough to know that there's a catch to stuff like that. I'm not interested in working for a mega carrier unless it's on a good dedicated account. Standard van truckload at Schneider sucked because their load planners are meat heads. I can only assume most other megas are the same

You can decline loaded that are out of your region but then you might just be sitting a lot waiting for runs.

Reason why I don't do it. Also it's around .05 less per mile and of I'm going to be running the same areas I do otr then I want that .05.

Only other benefit is if you want to be home more. Regional just has to stay out for 2 weeks at a time instead of the usual 3.

    It finally happened...

First load of the year to NY and me without my HUT sticker. After I drop my load tomorrow I'm suppose to live load near Columbus and then take that to NY for a live unload. 500+ mile same day run.

Turned it down initially but night dispatch has yet to remove it off me. Place is right off i84 and before any scale house so almost want to just sneak it to the shipper for the miles.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Thankfully my company doesn't run into NY, at all. No use getting HUT stickers for our trucks

You could contact your home terminal, and have them order one and fax you the receipt.
