    So here is my story
I booked a load from Dearborn MI-Laredo TX from a broker, Wed 1am pick - Tues 6 del for 4k. Broker required macropoint which I had. Wed around 11 am, broker made a check call and I rescheduled delivery to Friday 2nd at 10am. Thursday 1st, at about 9am broker called and told me to the load to KY. That there was a mistake, and asked how much it would cost. I told him another 4k. I already was in Houston TX. He agrees and sent me a conf.

This is where thing get interesting, he sends me a conf that shows the load is going from MI-KY for 4k and not being rerouted from Houston. No anwers to calls or emails that day. Next day I get to KY to make a dellivery, he tells me that the 4k will be paid out to me instead of 8 that was agreed to, we argued for about 15min, told me he is going to check with his customer on Tuesday and let me know. I delivered the load, and went home.
What are my options? Bond, small claims court, or just hire a lawyer if I told hear from him.

    motocross25 Thanks this.

I wouldn't have delivered until the paperwork was 100% correct.

Same. Once you deliver the load you have no power to negotiate. This kind of stuff happens more than you think. In this situation I would have stayed in Houston until I got a new correct rate con.

Example of a situation we had a bit ago. Driver got loaded Laredo to Phoenix. After leaving they called saying wrong product loaded and want the truck to go back to shipper. I simply asked for $2 a mile for the extra miles to go back. Driver arrived at shipper and the broker “went home for the day”. Other people at the broker refused to help. So my driver just sat there refusing to dock until rate con was fixed. Shipper was so mad they called broker and we had a rate con in 5 minutes.

Now you think broker would give us a new rate con with the added $ if we had no leverage?

    Yeah, man. That's on you.
Hate to say it, but you should have taken it to where it was contracted to go.
    Run done.
Sooooooo......you want it to go to Kentucky? Not a problem at all, I like Kentucky.
But I'm gonna need a new contract.

Might not have been a mistake trying to get someone to sign the BOL refused either.

    Blind Shipments were FUN.
I've pulled MANY. Told by My People after Loading, take to "new address".

NOW, IF Company Were Sold on such distance as you stated AND before distance achieved, "broker" changed delivery, NEW CONTRACT from Change Point, not "part of original Agreement"!!

    I was a Company Driver.

    TRUCKING is just another GAME!!

Unfortunately, you're beat on this one. The rate con is a contract. Treat it accordingly.

Did he send you a new different rate conf with the delivery address as the originating address and new delivery address with the details of the changes or did he just add the $4k on with the new address or what?

It may not be qualified for small claims court but his bond is something to consider or taking him to court and asking for legal fees and damages, need a schister lawyer, better call Saul.
