I was at the Loves in Demotte, In on I-65 this past Wednesday..... a driver forgot to set his brakes and rolled right into some kind of metal box over where the fuel haulers deliver fuel. Truck jumped the curb, he most not have been heavy or else he would've continued to roll.....

Our company had a veteran driver forget to set his brakes and rolled into a truck while he sat in the sleeper. Now we have trucks that honk when you open the door with the tractor brakes not set. This can be pretty annoying in itself as I have a tendency to get my hurry up and go order mixed up by releasing the brakes, then shutting the door and putting my seatbelt on. This means it honks for 10 minutes or until I set the brakes and release them again. Also if I set the trailer to let it drop but not the drives it'll go off as well.
It's a good idea but still annoying. And it wouldn't have prevented that truck from rolling since he never opened the door.Boondock, mjd4277, LtlAnonymous and 3 others Thank this. -

I’ve double and triple checked I had the brakes set just because I’m scared of being the bonehead who let his truck get away.

There's a big percentage of old hands, that at least once. Got back into their truck and went to push the knob, only to realize it was already in. Giving thanks to who ever or what ever, that you happened to stop on level ground. Just saying, life is full of learning experiences. Be safe everyone!!
