35 drivers were on his board. Fm said most of his drivers were like him. You have no idea what we work with.

Seems a lot of people who wouldn't make it in other fields due to actual work hours became truckers.
They live full time in the truck and rather than work hard to make the most of their time, they due the least amount of work to not get fired.
Lot of the big carriers just want someone in the truck no matter what cause a truck moving just 1700 miles a week still makes the company some money than of the truck sat for the whole week.RangerMelB, JoeyJunk, RussianBearTruckeR and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm wondering how many of these 300-400mile a day drivers lost their job due to covid then turned to trucking to make ends meet.

Also, this goes for any trucking company, but if they have drivers out on the road, they should have a full staff in the office. Same requirements as drivers for holidays, weekends etc.

I work with a dude who is 70 and who has saved nothing for retirement. He has 20 years left to pay on his 30 year mortgage and can never retire. He doesn’t let his wife work and didn’t get his CDL until he was 57. Don’t be that dude.JoeyJunk, Gearjammin' Penguin, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
