Experimental vaccines work and so does parking on the shoulder. In Baltimore, what parking options are there really? The options are limited statewide in all of Maryland as well. It's late so the likelihood of that truck getting hit shouldn't be high. This is 100 percent on the 4 wheeler, probably wasn't paying attention.

I agree. Sometimes people don't have a choice about where they park for the night. It may be illegal but most DOT officers turn a blind eye to it because they're just as aware that not every truck can park at a truck stop or rest area.

Well, unless it was the 4 wheeler that was parked on the shoulder and the big truck backed into him at top speed, I would say you are correct.
Quite intuitive on your part. Well done

Dont always need a pilot at 12 wide or more, depends on the state.

The point is, you and I know 9 out of 10 are simply parked, the Attorneys know better than us, there is this thing called discovery process whereby the ELD shows a history down to the minute.

    See where this leads?

The Attorneys, the Courts, the Jurys, the Families, the investigators don't give a #### what the truckers think or which jail cell they land.

    It's unnecessary extreme risk. Don't.

In 10 years of driving I have NEVER parked on the shoulder (except being broke down once.....as in, truck wouldn't go), on / off ramps, or ramps in or out of a rest area. It's just not necessary.
One person posted that there's no place to park in that state.......so.....now you know all you need to know. Plan accordingly.

You think Attorneys, Courts, Jury's, or Families of dead teens give a #### what you think?

It's called discovery in a trial. The millionaire Attorneys and their professional investigators will find, to the very minute, every time over several months the idiot has been parked on shoulders.

The Jury will then say, "finally my chance to get even with truckers, and then vote accordingly.

    It's extreme risk.

I work the wrecker in New York state on the Deacon expressway and you'll be surprised how many people rear-ended trucks for that very reason

Roads and barriers are built with purpose. As are rest areas, chain up areas, exit ramps etc... They have engineered speed and signage protections. The shoulders of roadways have zero.

The extreme danger of rear end collision has 90% fatality rates. But, there is also the extreme risk associated with the non merge lane, slow moving vehicles jumping into moving traffic accident rates.

The same idiots parking on the shoulders are the same idiots jumping into 70 mph traffic.

The law is clear and the Attorneys know it.

Because officers don't ticket every illegal act doesn't mean it's OK. Same as speeding, overloads, or reading texts.

No pilot car required under 12.5 in all the southeast states I run.
    This the response you give?
From that response I can only assume your one of those drivers who do exactly like the 4wheelers and not give me any room.
