Flatbed and step deck freight is still booming

    I heard that’s the case recently. Brokers simply can’t cover loads so they keep pushing rates higher and higher with no limit in sight. Never mind the empty flatbeds driving back and forth past business hours and taking up truck stop spaces - it’s a fetish thing. We need more capacity, huge shortage of flatbed and step deck trucks, help if you can.

    Yep. I agree. Friend of mine was just offered .80 a mile to haul a load out of Minneapolis. I’d be out buying new equipment if that was offered to me.

    Hey now, it was 81 cents per mile! Lmao :D
    It was also like a 1700 mile run, going to the land of cheap freight, south FLA ta boot..

    Broker even had the nerve to call US with that nonsense.. :rolleyes: Idiots...

    Asked em if they had a brain tumor for breakfast.

    That's a good joke. Lots of stepdeck and flat freight around here, if you like 2 bucks a mile or 700 dollars for something that will burn up as much time as a nice Texas and back run.
