I don't know. Radiation is alpha, beta, gamna. Alpha is He, helium particle with a +2 charge. Beta is an electron or a positron, practically no mass. Gamma is an energy wave not an actual particle. Would ash in the atmosphere absorb any of this? I'm going with not much difference in radiation effects from having ash in the air. I'm thinking the ash will be high up in the air and the radiation type I'm speaking of goes in a straight line and we are on the ground..

The fall out from the wind pattern blowing stuff down range, will still be radioactive and how much ash is needed to absorb that radioactive field? I don't think it would make a huge difference.

How can there possibly be a healthy eco system with global icebergs raising temperature levels??????

"Giant bluefin tuna along the [Rhode Island] coast are an indicator of a healthy ecosystem and are great opportunities for properly licensed commercial fishermen," DEM officials said.

So you think all those radioactive particles floating around won't make other things radioactive when they contact them?

My understanding is that plutonium or uranium core does the fissle thing. Big elements being broken up into little elements and energy being released. The hydrogen being combined into bigger elements in the core of the uranium or plutonium sphere. Hence the hydrogen bomb name sake. The new isotopes a lot of them aren't stable and decay quickly. Some things last year's. But most of it settles down after 6 weeks. Depending on how efficient the bomb is. So the initial bomb causes things to become radioactive.
But to become radioactive, like you say, the alpha or beta particle slams into a nucleus and creates a new element, which is then unstable and decays too. The fun thing is strontium 90, the body looks at as calcium, so if you eat thru a dairy cows milk it will go into your bones. Then it decays there and f up your DNA from the inside.

This is one of the reasons they banned atmospheric testing.

Should we talk about how california had the cleanest air ever recorded in history in 2020 when there was more trucks than ever before in LA but all the 4 wheelers were at home?

"Diesel spewing onto windows, spewing into childrens lungs who are playing outside. Kids cant even go outside anymore because there is so much diesel pollution".

Politicians ought to be jailed for ridiculous statements like that. Because it is a bold face lie.... One of these days... One day... All the trucks will stop for 1 week.... And people wont give a #### about a tiny bit of pollution from trucks because there will be much bigger problems...

So after six weeks nothing will be radioactive?
