Odd smell from heater

    I don't have AC on this truck, and it's the old pool knob style controls. If I'm sitting still, and I have the heat going, the closest thing I can describe is the smell is kind of like acetone.


    I looked this up online and it said something about refrigerant. But, as far as I'm aware I don't have AC on this truck

    1985 Volvo white cabover, 300 cummins, straight 9

    Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

    Clean out the mouse house from the heater.

    I have had this happen to me on my jeep, got a few dead mice out of it and the nesting material, it stunk

    Check for rodents then empty a can of Lysol into vents let truck sit for a day .. Lysol kills any bacteria in system mostly on heater core or AC condenser if equipped
