A friend is thinking about moving to SW Arkansas. But he needs his license to be in Texas. I know the UPS store address just has a street number, followed by the box, or unit number, and by showing the box as a unit, like an apartment, it looks like a normal address.
I know I have read here about guys using addresses like this and getting by doing it but I don't know if it will work in Texas.
Anyone know anything about this or know someone that has done it?
Can a UPS store box address be used to get a Tx drivers license?

I was using a UPS address for the past 10 years, but when I went to renew it this month,I was told it’s not a certified residence, and they wouldn’t let me.
It can still be used for a mailing address though.I live in San AntonioTall Mike, tscottme, blairandgretchen and 6 others Thank this. -
I'm still in CDL school, but when I went to get my permit last week, they specifically told me it had to be a physical address. PO boxes and the like were not acceptable.
They did say if you didn't have a way to prove your residence you could have someone else bring in their proof, and then state that you live there. It was another form to fill out, but I personally witnessed someone use this route while I was there.
If your friend has friends or family in Texas it shouldn't be very hard to accomplish.tscottme, blairandgretchen, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this. -

Nope. I’m the only driver running New Mexico plates in Illinois. I feel special. Cop said it was legal. ID is valid too apparently. Just tell him to use his mom’s address or something.

Heck , tell them you’re homeless, you live in the truck , you might try telling you live at the corner of “Walk and Don’t Walk”.

DMV lady told me that your Texas CDL has to have your residence address on it, but if the UPS store has a physical address you might be able to get away with using it.
I know for a fact that you cannot put a PO box address on your Texas CDL anymore. It really ticked me off when they made that change.
