When do you know it’s time to tune your truck?

    Hello, I drive a kenworth with a Cummins isx. What are some signs that it needs to be tuned?

    What do you mean by “tuned”?

    In the EFI era, TUNED would be done at the ECM, preferably on a dyno. I don’t think that’s what you are preferring to.

    I was a tuba player in high school, so I would love it if I could get a Bb out of my exhaust - or even better, out of the air horn. But it's a company truck...

    Cummins says 500K between overhead adjustments. I like to do it every 200K and that also gets me a look at overall condition of the top end. There really is no other tune up. Change oil and filters.
