I came here today to get caught up on the thread and to say that my Red Truck just took me to West Jeff just south of where my Green Truck used to take me. Was curious if you all still ran there or not.

@JohnBoy Prayers for you and your family. Take care of Lesli as caregiving is tiring.

and yea, a load to Alaska would be a huge bucket list checkbox completed… well, in the summertime that is. LOL

I spoke to a Driver once that was working up there. He said it was great. Worked like 6-8 months up there and came home for the rest. Great pay (obviously) and they don’t much care what you do.

    stay safe

Sitting here at the Loves in Williams Ca. Got here last night. This trailer I pulled off the Richmond yard had its inspection run out last night at midnight. I knew all well and good that this was going to be my responsibility this weekend. So now I’m next in line to get an inspection. This I’m ok with. The trailer was dropped at Hill 2 weeks ago, sat there until I picked it up last Saturday, our shop was closed when I picked it up so it fell on my shoulders. This worked out perfect. I’ll be down in Colton about 1700 then start my reset.

Thank you my friend. This is part of being an adult I never thought I’d have to deal with. But life is life. Lesli is doing fine. She’s one tough lady. She says hello to you and the wife.

Trailer inspection update. Need new brakes on the front axle. Oh well, at least when I drop this trailer in Colton, the next driver can’t fault me for leaving him/her any problems. That is if they do a pretrip.

My biggest issue today is if I should finish my reset here, or go on to Colton and start it late tonight. If I finish it here, this trip with 1250 miles will not go on this pay period. But, it’s not like I’ll be short on miles. The load I finished yesterday with 5 extra stop offs and 3550 miles will be fine.

Background info. I saw this lease operator at the Loves in Williams Ca Friday late afternoon parked with the curtains closed. I parked and got situated for the night. When I got up and walked to the shop to get signed in for a trailer inspection, he was gone.

While getting the inspection, I checked the 2 scales going south, Santa Nella was closed, and Wheeler Ridge was open. I was completely legal, but I still like to know what the California scales are doing, especially, the 2nd biggest inspection station in the state.

Homeboy here in the picture says it all. The rollback with the forklift and pallet jack and the 2 dudes talking with him had to readjust his load. You can’t see it from this picture, but his load was 15 feet from the back of the trailer, double stacked.

The Cat scale at the Loves in Williams, and the 2 Cat scales at the TA and Petro the exit before the scales were all in working order. But alas, he decided to say F’it and take his chance. Apparently common sense was completely out of his mindset. So in conclusion, this turned out to be a very expensive day for this lease operator.

Side note, in order to miss those scales, all one needs to do is go across 58 to 395 to 15 south. 13 miles farther, and the eastbound scales on 58 are always closed on the weekend, and the southbound scales on 15 are out of the ground.
