I had Ben as well and was spoiled by the lack of conversation necessary. He figured out how you run and he ran you. I’ve had A.G. Since Ben and he is the same, but I’m also picking up quite a few brokered loads and other people involved in ops. Regardless the miles haven’t changed.

    “… lack of conversation”

    YES!!! lol

It was so nice to just occasionally “touch base” or only if/when something went slightly sideways or a concern popped up. I think I’ve talked (via QC and phone) about 4X more in a few months than I did with Ben in the prior 2 years… LOL … he just sent me loads and I ran the loads.

    eh, growing pains right? :)

Now, I will add that I’m using this new tablet app and that is greatly increasing communications because I just don’t see all the information that available to us out here… so that’s part of the current equation too. While I do like it, there is some growing pains there as well.

Yes, I’m seeing an increase in Brokered Loads as well. But even those are well above average quality as compared to some Brokered Loads I’ve run in a Green Truck so I’m not complaining there.

    Wheels Turn, I’m good.

Had an interesting 24+ hour period.

Had an appointment to drop Friday 0800 but I was arriving Thursday at 1400 and called receiver Sioux Falls to see if they wanted it early which they did. Great. So I was able to zip down to South Sioux City to check on the Richardson load to Rome to see if it by chance was ready early…

It was then life took a left turn.

Thursday night I was told the load was cancelled. No one can address it until morning. Ok.

No worries, BT to Sam’s Club and go shopping. Morning comes and I get my next load back to Rome so I head back to Richardson. Was then told that number doesn’t exist. Yup, delete load number two.

So they have me shuttle a load to Fremont and then head to BD in Columbus NE for a load heading to Four Oaks. Longer run so it’s a net win for this driver. Let’s Roll.

Arrive and drop my MT and start looking for my loaded trailer. Not in the yard. Call to verify numbers etc. it’s after 5pm so S/R Office is closed. Night Dispatch tells me to look in other yards in town. (Didn’t know they had multiple yards)

They look it up to track it and it says it’s in Broken Bow… but that was as of the 26th so not reliable data. (Dead battery on tracker?)

searched four lots around BD West and then headed to BD East to search two more yards. (Didn’t know there was an East and West operations either)

‘twas an interesting day. Let’s see what Saturday brings… LOL

They do but more for staging and dock areas. One was all refers. But it’s good to eliminate the obvious.

oh, there was an O/O in the area too so Dan asked him to look around. I saw him searching and stopped to chat. “Hey, which one are you looking for?” … he gave me the same number I was searching for. I thought maybe they sent two of us for the same load but then he explained Dan asked him to take a look too.

so now I’m taking an unplanned 34 since the replacement load is heading to MI for Monday morning. I’m already well into a 34 at this point so I might as well reset my 70 before heading to CB to grab this next one.

    hoping it’s there LOL

Been home since Monday with a nasty sinus infection. Imagine driving with steering wheel in left hand and tissue in the right. Tuesday afternoon went to my PCP to rule out covid and strep which we did. Supposed to come back out Monday. Nasty buggers!

If I had served at Camp Lejeune, if the cancer didn’t get me, the commercials every 10 minutes would. Rant over.

I was at Council Bluffs yesterday, and I saw at least 9 of those while I was waiting for my PM to be done.
