Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

Got my biannual recruting call from Crete yesterday.

 

They are desperate…drivers are leaving in droves..now that they took that .02 surge pay away this week, many will see their pay cut..wilmer in orientation had just in the 1st class of the week 26 people last week

 

I still get texts and calls from them and it's been years since I applied lol

 

The check in and screwed up parking area...is a real cluster muck

 

If anyone is quitting because they cut the surge pay, they're idiots. There are reasons, but surge pay is sure not one. Surge pay amounts to maybe $50-60/week, I sure wouldn't quit for that. I'm betting we get that as a raise next quarter. I just had around 33k miles for the quarter, it would be hard to justify bailing because I lost something they told us was temporary when we got it.

 

That’s only one thing…the miles you’re allegedly getting are not the norm…if they’re going to give that as a raise, they should’ve just kept it on and stated such…

 

I agree on the miles, that's not normal, but I always get the bonus, so it's at least 30k. It's only 2500 miles a week to make the $50 I was talking on the surge pay. I've only missed one bonus since they implemented it, and I was off close to 3 weeks that quarter. If be shocked if we don't get a raise in the 1st or 2nd quarter next year. Like I've said before in here, I don't have a lot of the issues on the Crete side that I hear you guys talk about, maybe I'm just lucky.

 

I'm always close on the 4th quarter as I take more time off that quarter, but my AM always gets me dispatched with a load on 12/31 when I leave the house that will get my bonus. Only one was he not able to do that. But I rarely stay out over 24 days. A couple times a year I may stay out 30 just to be home for something, but never 6-7 weeks. The deal is it's easy to get me home living in Iowa, as opposed to you having to get to Florida. I'm sure that's a challenge on the miles too. Maybe I'm a unicorn, but I've been here 14 years now, and always between 125k and 130k miles per year. Could probably be up there with the heavy hitters if I didn't go home every month.
