This is not even a training issue. It’s an IQ issue. What the f were they thinking? What the f were they hearing/doing as a train horn was blowing. They aren’t quiet.

I side with the cops most of the time. I give them the side of the doubt in most situations. Not this one. There needs to be sever repercussions for their actions. Firing and monetary penalties are not enough.

Furthermore, you can’t tell me that not one of those cops realized that the car was on the tracks. And not one of those cops realized they were putting a person in there. And that that the those among them that were aware, did not heed the sound and light from an oncoming train.

This goes well beyond neglect of duty or poor training. I hope she doesn’t settle for a few million. This need to go to trial.

And even after the train hit the car, they were searching her pickup and laughing about it.

Another reason to go to trial. I would not be surprised is a few of them with consciences spoke out about knowing the car was on the truck, and knowing how bad that was but feared causing waves to another cop and just freaked when it was going down froze and did nothing. Yes speculation, but that’s why it needs to go to trial.

Those cops will just move to another dept. kinda like our little community chief. I mean crook. Look up silver state helicopter pilot training academy. That is our new chief. Settled here after moving around a lot.

That’s one thing they’re attempting to stop in texas.. they’re trying to get a database created where cops whom are terminated for gross misconduct and other unlawful activities are put into the database and want to make it law where any other department must search the database for any potential officer applicant and see if they’re in the database.

This will go to trial. No way they can bury the issue and make it go away. Remember they’re facing two potential lawsuits-one from that young lady who is recovering in the hospital (they better pray that she fully recovers) and one from the railroad whose train got damaged after hitting the squad car. Brand new locomotives cost around the 8 figure range, plus they have to inspect the tracks around the collision site to make sure no other infrastructure was damaged!
Something this big can’t be covered up-especially since the state Bureau of Investigation is looking into it and especially since it involved multiple law enforcement agencies (local and sheriff’s departments).

Unfortunately she will never fully recover from injuries that traumatic.
    Especially as she ages.
