While everyone else is fighting over the laws in the constitutionality of this I’m wondering if I’m the only one thinking about the political in fighting at the DPS over who gets to drive it LOL

Ah that law amendment is wrong, we’ll just write in another law, to change that law to our standards.

Hmmm... I wonder how Mexican cops would handle it, if a bunch of gringos went to Mexico city and started doing donuts in an intersection while flying an American flag out the window?

This type of behavior is unacceptable, I agree. It's dangerous and has no place in town. We go to cruises and events, but we always stay within the law and respect people's property. Usually there will be a few cops around, and they're into the cars just as much as everyone else. There's no need to act stupid to have a good time.

The right thing to do would be auction the car off, if the original owner wants it back he can buy it again. How's that for a fine? Then take the money from the auction and do some good with it in the community. But that would probably never happen with the state of law enforcement these days. I'm totally against forfeitures and seizures.

Civil forfeiture creates an incentive for cops to let drug dealers and criminals build up cash and prizes. When they have all kinds of cool toys and money, swoop in and take it all and give them a slap on the wrist. Then let them out of jail to complete the cycle again.
