They have. Not sure of the limitations. I think they don't allow aggressive breeds, though. Best of luck. Thanks for considering us, UTG. You won't be sorry! No, I am not a recruiter. Just a satisfied driver. Just don't mention your blog name. FCC has a NO U-Turn policy.

Large companies ALWAYS equal more drama and redtape, just like government. The company (trucking division included) i worked the longest for went from a Fortune Nothing to a Fortune 200 in 15 years and some of the stupidity i witnessed everyday makes me thankful we had a Union even when i was in supervision. For example UTURNGirl has been driving a forklift safely for 8 years, never hit anybody or anything and always delivers product on time/no line stoppages. I don't need some do gooder fresh out of college with a masters degree in lack of common sense telling me or anyone in my crew the way you want them to drive.

I'm a bit of a data pirate. I'm a firm believer in information is power and taking many comments in context which is difficult when making such an important decision as your now faced with UTURNGIRL. I spent too much time on this site, other forums and venues such as linkedin, glassdoor etc prying whatever i could in making my first trucking company decision.

A few things to remember is that the most vocal are almost always the least satisfied.
Sometimes we can get paralyzed by indecision.

I spoke with a GPTransco recruiter. Professional! Didn't mind talking to yet another noob looking to get into trucking. Shared a wealth of information and encouraged me to apply when i had 6 months in OTR. Used to be a year but they are desperate/growing like the rest of the industry. If the company that hired me delivers contractually i wont be going anywhere for sometime.

Barr-Nunn like Walmart seems to offer top pay, good equipment and has higher than industry average driver satisfaction. Estes comes to mind, i don't know how you feel about doubles, they seem to drive a lot of them. Had an Estes driver deliver my brand new Napoleon gas grill to my driveway last summer. He loved his job, home everynight even if the tradeoff was predominantly special freight (trailer drop gate, manual handtruck) Chicago, Rockford and Milwaukee.

Good luck in your search UTurnGirl!

Dont think estes would work for uturn. She lives far enough away their day runs are p&d and the l8nehaul is mainly nights. I could be wrong but i believe that is mainly how they run

Just so you know I am not dismissing suggestions for no reason. My address is a barrier to many positions. I'm 60 to 100 miles from anywhere. I love that but it does limit my options.

I am anxiously waiting to hear from a Fremont recruiter when Monday rolls around. The pay isn't as swell as some advertisements by other companies, but it sounds steady and has great reviews. I will have to schlep up to Nebraska a lot, but I am a big girl and, as my daddy used to say, every job has its bads.

@UturnGirl I was at FCC for almost two years before a medical issue had a different plan for me but in my time there they were by far the best company I ever worked for.

They are very well organized and do treat you with respect. I heard yes sir, no sir, and thank you, sir, so many times it was almost too much (just wasn't used to it).

They have Nebraska-Texas regional runs that can get you home every week if you want or the OTR which is truly all 48. When I was there the OTR paid .04 more than the regional.

The only thing I didn't care for was they wanted the truck in for a PM every 8k miles which I just didn't want to do sometimes but that was a small price to pay for all of the good.

Good luck to you wherever you end up.

I hope fcc is it because I've only been at this a couple days and I'm exhausted! My goodness there is a lot of horse manure to dig through trying to find that pony.

If they don't call you by lunch, I'd call them.
