Serious question, are there a lot of water trucks hauling in water to places like Vegas, LA etc.

There's plenty of water coming OUT of Vegas believe it or not. They keep harping about the water level here, yet THEY KEEP ON BUILDING HOUSES. I guess the water shortage takes a back seat to tax dollars.

It isn't just the BS, people are finding better and easier ways to make money.

The article and the segment lacks credibility, it is a puff piece. You don't interview drivers, you interview hiring managers or fleet managers. Interviewing a driver about a driver shortage is like interviewing a burger flipper at Burger King about making hamburgers at McDonalds.

There is a shortage of good drivers, the stupid and preventable accident rates (according to my underwriters) are up, it is blaming the FMCSA and the mega need to speed up the revolving door. Hearing from other fleet owners, they are seeing a drop in applications because what happens NORMALLY the pool of drivers are coming from that revolving door are down because the Megas are FIRING those who are involved in accidents and reckless driving.

I have a 19 year old meticulous maintained FLD and trailer is paid for as well. House, car, bike, boat all paid off too. I can get by on $1.75 per mile with no problems. This is gonna b a bloodbath just like 08 and 99.
Gonna laugh as dumb s•it’s go out of business trying to pay that note on a 4 year old truck they paid $100k for.
    Let the good times roll!!

    Great post.

You are correct that too many idiots jumped in, bought over priced trucks and trailers, which maybe worked okay short term at the top of the bubble. But anyone who has half a brain, knows that bubbles always burst, and the deeply in debt clowns, don't survive it.
You can have an IQ of 60 and see that scenario play out over and over in history.

I would like to trade you my 22 yeard old turd box FLD so that you may transform it into what you have. It will be a fun project and I will be VERY appreciative.

When should I drop it off? I can work around your schedule!

I’ve talked to a few guys who are number two or three at certain companies and they all tell me the same thing. The biggest obstacle they have right now and have had for quite some time is getting drivers. But here’s what else I see happening. These companies are getting so desperate to find halfway decent drivers they are neglecting and taking for granted the drivers that stick around for them. They are putting new drivers in better trucks, while leaving their establish drivers that they think won’t quit on them, to hang out and dry. Happened at the last company I was just at. I had been there almost 3 years and for 3 1/2 months they couldn’t get me in a reliable truck why brand new drivers fresh out of school we’re getting trucks that worked. It was absolutely insane. During the last 3 1/2 months I had two checks that were normal. The rest were in the hundreds of dollars range yet I was on the hook with them all that time. Standing by, driving back-and-forth, loading all my gear on and off dozens of trucks. I was getting totally jerked around and it got so out of control it was literally affecting my personal life. And I wasn’t the only one they were bouncing around like that. Juggling broken trucks to try and buy themselves time. Wasting drivers time and knowingly assigning broken trucks to drivers so they could buy themselves a day or two here or there until another truck came available. The stupid Get so focused on recruiting they forget what retention is for their good drivers.
