And today instead of sleeping and recovering. My denture broke so I had to spend the whole day messing with dentist. Plus I got another call Who's driving your truck? Yikes!

I drive for a company in Ohio, and live in Texas. I don’t pay Ohio taxes.

It's an Arkansas thing I think.. The company is only located in Arkansas. For example, when I drove for jb hunt even though they are headquartered in Arkansas, they showed me as driving for Dallas branch. Same with tni out of Missouri, I'm listed as driving out of Laredo branch. Anyway... thats what I think the deal is.

You shouldnt have to pay arkansas income tax. If the company takes it out your tax peraon can file and get it all back to you.

Absolutely not. We are in MN, one of the, shall we say, more generous states at helping themselves to your wallet. You pay taxes only in the state of your residence, they can't attach/withhold from our drivers that live across the line in Iowa or any other state. We even have drivers with TN or TX residency that never have to worry about paying state income taxes (they maintain an address and property in those states and go "home" once per year while "visiting" relatives in other states for their regularly scheduled days off).

I only know what Google says. I'm prepared to go along rather than have a huge meltdown at orientation. I don't like it a lot and I hope it is not true, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Workers who work in states without reciprocity agreements do not have to pay all the taxes for both states. Federal law in the United States prohibits multiple states from charging state tax on the same income. However, people who work in states without reciprocity agreements are required to file state income tax returns in both (or multiple) states.

    Arkansas Income Tax Withholding
Texarkana, Texas residents are exempt from Arkansas income tax and withholding on wages earned in Texarkana, Arkansas, but must pay Arkansas tax on wages earned in other parts of Arkansas. Other Texas residents are liable for taxes on all wages earned in any part of Arkansas.

I dont know where you found that but either it doesnt apply to truck drivers or noone follows it. I work for tyson foods based out of springdale ar and never pay ar state taxes. If you do get them taken out of your check your cpa should be able to file and get them refunded
