Railroads both in Canada and the US, that's a whole different story. IMHO they're more corrupt than the government.

I'm the same way, but up here in Canada, if you're non-union, you're going to get ####ed hard. Our justice system is a joke, and our worker protections are an even bigger joke. Quick example, CNC machine shops in the US, must have positive ventilation and coolant vapor recovery system in place. In Canada, they don't even run a vent outside, I've never seen a non-union shop that wasn't vented to atmosphere inside the building. Finish Carpentry, lots of stains/glues that cause cancer and respiratory issues, that are banned in the US, are widely used here, with 0 worker protections. Non-Union Electrical Contractors, fry a couple apprentices a year, just in Calgary (my city) alone. Lastly, there are people driving for Bison, who will work 70hr's this week on the book (Closer to 100 in reality) and after the BS and deductions, they will make $0 dollars net (Yes $0).

Now I feel depressed just wirting that lol.

Unfortunately it seems that not every terminal is the same either some are ok to work at others a nightmare . that’s for all companies

Amen to that. While not all non-union companies are bad, it seems like that’s now the exception not the rule.

I wonder if there is any demand for a trucker onlyfans? LoL

I firmly agree with that. It’s all on the local mgmt team. If your boss is an ###, plays favourites, doesn’t follow labour laws etc that makes for a poor terminal.

In my opinion it doesn’t matter if it’s a union or non union company as far as the bs goes . in some cases it’s worse at a union shop because the older employees or drivers feel entitled. I’ve seen it at places like tst drivers saying to dispatch i thought we went by seniority here . which i understand older drivers have put in their time but it’s just the way the drivers were talking to each other or dispatch that i said to myself i couldn’t work here .The last ltl company i worked at called Bestway cartage the main dispatcher i had to deal with Ken was a real assh$$$ to deal with . lucky here at kriska everyone real easy to get along with .

The conclusion I came to is to jump ship once December passes, it's our high season for now (Amazon). I only want to work to work, not all this other BS that's included with it.

Honestly what advice can you give to a 25 year old trucker? Jump ship from trucking all together or just head for a union job?
