Can be a great job depending on the terminal and length of haul. Short haul/rail heads may or may not be good depending on your needs regarding pay unless you want to be home more often. Long haul terminals typically are $2,000 a week and up for an experienced Carhauler. The best insurance available in modern times for free and a so so pension, but it is still free to the employee.

I think it is regional freight. You are likely already use to the snow if you live up there but working out in it a couple hours a day won’t be easy.

Driving the rig in the snow isn’t the tough part. Loading and unloading in the snow and cold sucks. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try as it can be a great career for some people.

Thanks for being honest . I’m asking for any and all advice/info before making my decision. When you say regional freight is that why they told me I would deliver in NY, CT , RI, VT, and Maine?
