The local Niagara is this way. The Indians are supposedly in California. This is what I was told and the number they call from says Cali. The robots load the trailers. If one breaks down or malfunctions, they don’t have another take over or have a human load with a forklift ( yes they have both inside). Load time for this warehouse is always 1.5-2 hours regardless of how busy. It was 4 hours with a robot breakdown. They have a yard jockey moving trailers.
Checking out is great unless your trailer was entered in the system wrong, or the printer is out of paper. Or the seal box is empty because the HUMANS didn’t check it at the beginning of their shift. Then you have to call California again and they have to summon help. Can be a royal pain.

Today was way more windy than yesterday. Between York, NE and Salina, KS it was pushing me around pretty good, but between Salina and Wichita it was two hands on the wheel and two cheeks around the seat cushion type ride. I was passed (slowly) by one of those yellow cornbinders from Pacific. With him about a 1/2 mile ahead of me I would occasionally see the lettering on the passenger side of his trailer when the wind would hit him. Made it to the yard and pulled behind the building and backed in between 2 conestogas. The dust blowing across the yard is so bad it looks like a tornado. And coming down, where some of the corn fields had been harvested, the dust blowing across the interstate was pretty thick...but my tarps stayed right where they belong.

Unload went good. I ended up delivering to the address on the B/L not where the Peoplenet, my dispatcher and the CSR said...(tried the wrong place 1st.). It started raining just as I was leaving the yard, so they backed me inside instead of unloading in the driveway. Headed to the yard once I was empty, and changed into dry clothes. I decided to lay down with the bunk heater running to warm up. It was in the upper 60's all night, but by the time I got back to the yard it was in the 40's. About the time my head hit the pillow, dispatch calls...reload right out of the yard going to Rancho Dominguez...so, I get another $100 paid training session on tarping. Got loaded, but for some reason, he loaded me nose heavy. I will head to a scale just to make sure I am legal. The air pressure gauge is right at 60, so that's pushing it mighty close...I hope it is legal because I have only a little room to move my 5th wheel, but not much. We shall see.
