I recently just resigned from trucking company out of Arkansas. I returned the truck back to one of there terminals in Arkansas, but they still charged me for the fuel. They withheld $850 from my final check claiming it’s for fuel cost. Is there anything I can do about this???

Sounds like you are a 10-99 contractor, is that correct?

Ok. Did you deadhead a long way to turn in your truck? I would look at the company hand book if there is one. And look at all the paperwork that you signed when you were hired. And look for where they might charge you for something like that. If there isn't anything in writing, then it is illegal, but hiring an attorney might cost you more that you are owed.

That doesn't surprise me, they are not going to make it easy for you.

    Think it’s 45 days.
They can keep your money to make sure you didn’t owe them for something.
After that it’s fair game, you can dog what you want to get it back.

Have they been taking taxes out of your checks?

That's for a O/O leased to a company. They have 45 days to return your escrow funds, minus any back charges you owe. He is a company driver and unless he signed some kind of contract giving that company the right to hold his money, he should contact his state labor board.
