How did it work out for you? That customer is gravy if you haven’t already delivered. FCFS they start around 0630 and go until 1500 (maybe 1400) just get in line behind everyone else (check with the trucks on both sides of the road to find out who’s last) you check in with the guard by the gate. When it’s your turn, just back in the middle of the driveway. I always untarp and unstrap while I’m waiting.

The load going to Rancho Dominguez you mean? I am going to a freight forwarder who's putting it on a ship... haven't got there yet, but by the looks of it on the Google Maps it's a tiny place.

Already have my next load info. After I deliver this in the morning I head to the yard to get a 4 stopper going to Park City(not the TMX places), St. Louis, and 2 customers in NJ by next Thursday. Dispatch said they will have it loaded for me, but load instructions say live load. Airplane parts, but much lighter than the load I have now. Seems like after I hit my 90 day anniversary, there hasn't been as much wait time for loads (unless I just cursed myself)...hope it keeps up like this.

The truck acted funky today. Coming thru Kingman and went to drop out of 13th to 12th and when I blipped the throttle to shift, instead of a minor increase in rpms it throttled way up and like a rookie shifting it ground wildly, and a bunch of idiot lights came on. Now my Peoplenet's mileage and my truck's trip odometer were 50ish miles off and the mpg's on the truck display showed this

Acting like this with 85,000 miles...not a good omen...maybe I should have asked for an auto Volvo instead of a manual KW.

Creaffer would have wanted to “coach” you for that awful fuel mileage!

That’s pirate mode. It activates when dispatch wants to steal your bonus.

you unload where the circled truck is. Line up on the street. They get quite a few trucks everyday. I just blind side in from the road, there’s plenty of room. ED2C1FAB-1FCE-4782-852E-38A22533DEC5.jpeg

is one of your NJ stops Harbor Freight? If so it’s just the west coast version of Rancho.

I picked up in Rancho Dominguez the last time I was in Cali, but it wasn't the same place I am delivering to in the morning.

Not much room to fold tarps, is there?!?!

My NJ's are at DHL in Newark and McGuire AFB (now that I have a TWIC I can get into ports, foreign trade zones and military bases w/o an escort)

Once you back in the driveway there’s enough room to fold your tarps up. Make sure you stay on the left of the expansion joint that runs on the center of the driveway, the right side of the driveway. as you face away from the building, is another company.

I personally will fold my tarps up on top of the load out in the street. That way I can unstrap and be ready to go as soon as I’m back in. Sometimes if you’re not ready to go when the forklift comes by the first time they like to wander off, sometimes never to be seen again.
