Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

I hear TN has been attracting numbers as well. I think I’d like heading back to the mountains of Western NC or Eastern TN.

If I was single Id go build me a cabin in the mountains and hunt, fish and grow my own food if I could get away with living off grid like that. I enjoy the quiet of the wilderness.

 

In 1977, I moved to Waynesboro, Va, it was a laid back, small, friendly and it had around 5 traffic lights. If two or more cars were stopped at a light, you would think it was rush hour. NOW, it is unbelievable. #### Yankees from Northern Virginia retiring in the Valley. They cannot build houses fast enough. Think I will move back to Spindale, NC, where I first saw the light of day.

 

That area is on my retirement radar. Two of my kids and four grands live in western NC (as did my ex and I in the late 90s and early 2000s). And as my life situation has changed significantly this year with a divorce and my mother’s passing, said retirement may come sooner than later.

 

We have a place in Marion that’s near Lake James, we love it up there. Headed there today, for the final time this season.

Just head down 79 a little further and you can do that. All the cheap land is down that way. My brother in law has his place and his fathers and bought another adjoining property in Weston. I’ll probably end up there.

 

Coming out in the morning,grabbing a empty,and heading up to Richmond.

We'll see where our travels head next,gonna stay out till Thanksgiving.
