I can't add anything to what everyone else said. All I can say is truckers die on the the wrong hill more than any other industry in my opinion. Don't be one of those truckers.

    Often times there “different” companies,

ex, local company xxxxx construction, xxxxx enterprises, and xxxxx LLc, all the same, but enterprises deals with mining/blasting, so they have one specific bay painted red that all ent equipment must be worked on, while the other bay is construction, and the office is the llc, same building, but different rules for each spot.

    it’s definitely a joke

Same here, used to walk around the plants while in the dock. Watch the machines, assembly lines. Dodge Trucks, Mustangs, Ford Trucks, Lincoln’s, Thunderbirds. Stamping presses. And always hit the cafeteria. Not anymore. Stay behind the yellow line please.

I delivered to an open field today.
They demanded hard hat and safety glasses.

I said what could possibly get me out there?
Protecting me from bird poop falling from the sky?

    They were not entertained.

The obvious answer to to protect you from their own incompetence, but they will never admit to that.

It is their facility, and they make the rules. So if you don't comply, they won't load you and will make you leave.

Yeah those days are Over. But I sure enjoyed watching the machinery .
Not just the auto assembly plants . The machine that puts the caps on the dawn dishwashing soap bottles was fascinating to watch .

i was riding with a driver a few months ago and we walked about 20 feet from the loading dock to the soda machine and as we were reaching into the slot to grab the soda we got asked who are you what are you doing here etc .

It was am open field and a fork lift.
Once I unsecured I went in the truck while they unloaded.

How would I still need a hard hat and safety glasses for that?
