You won’t get a tonu unless the truck has been dispatched and is in route to pickup. But you can just about always tell when the broker is scuzzy. Best to not even book with them.

 

And how would they do that?
I'm honestly just asking for the sake of knowledge.
So, you accept a rate con at 1500 in the afternoon.
Pick up is for 0600 tomorrow.
At 1700, broker says shipment canceled.

So, where's the money?

 

Getting billed and getting paid aren’t the same thing.

 

I’ve only been burnt once about 20 years ago. Got me for 30 grand. I’m selective as to who I will work with. I would like to see how you word your RC to get paid a tonu when the truck hasn’t been dispatched. Or you have never had it happen and are just blowing smoke.

 

How often have you actually had to bill it? I’ll be honest I have had maybe one load cancel in the last year.

I do the same with my detention rates. I don’t want to be dealing with “just keep track of your time”.
