Expansion
Diesel Shortage
- announced a partnership with the great Cleveland Clinic, which will designate healthy meal options in our full service restaurants
- we have completed the acquisition of five travel centers and two truck service locations during the first nine months of 2022.
- We expect to open the balance of these 48 mostly ground up travel centers by the fourth quarter of 2024 with an expectation of opening 30 annually in our long-term financial target. (Franchises)
Infrastructure
- (diesel shortage) we have a pretty high degree of confidence that if we go dry anywhere it will be infrequent and short lived and very sort of focused surgically certain key area or certain specific area
- we do not expect, again, I’ll just repeat it wide ranging, protracted outages where we go dry
- Frankly, what’s making the news is almost, even more exaggerated what the news is in terms of supply constraints and the volatility and uncertainty that comes of that.
All quotes pulled from 2022 Q3 Earnings Call
- adding self checkout
- on AI for street diesel, once again, that’s using the machine to drive street pricing. That’s pricing that small fleets or independent truckers who are not part of a big discounting program or even a small fleet discounting program, just pull up and pay the sign rate.
- trailer repair that’s also growing very significantly that we’re also investing in as well
- mobile maintenance business...we literally send a big truck and a tech or two behind the gate into the yard of our customers and perform services there. That’s a business we’re expanding...we can have further reach by growing that business in markets where we may not, or carters where we may not have a travel center (mostly contract)

That's all good news to me since I am a TA user mostly these days. I'd be really happy though if they would make it quick and simple to just get a coffee and pay with your card instead of the current dog and pony show. Perhaps the self check out will streamline that.
Another thing that bugs me about TA/Petro is they think their lousy coffee is gold. At least half the time I walk in to a Pilot, which I only do for coffee these days, they just wave me on at the register without even asking if I bought fuel. TA takes your $900 bucks for fuel and never gives up an ounce of coffee in my experience.
Why am I stuck on quick/cheap/free coffee? Because it's an insult to pay $900 for fuel and be charged an additional $3 for something that doesn't cost them .03cke, JoeyJunk, Jubal Early Times and 7 others Thank this. -

Pilot was the first mega truck stop to start charging for coffee after you fueled.
it used to be free everywhere with a fuel purchase, some mom and pops gave out a free lunch ####!! -

Not sure if they're being generous or lazy but I take it as a win! -
I rarely stop at TA anymore and tried to get coffee this morning to use up some of my points. Boy was that a mistake in more ways than one, did they think drivers need another reason to avoid them?
JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
I call BS on the heathy food, but if it’s true that would be good.

The "guidance" that is provided on a call or notice like that, intended for stockholders, is just so much window dressing to keep institutional investors from dumping the stock.
When you see meaningless statements like:
- announced a partnership with the great Cleveland Clinic, which will designate healthy meal options in our full service restaurants.
It only means they are going to pay someone at the Cleveland Clinic to put an asterisk next to obvious items. Not a doctor, probably a low level dietician.
Pulleasseeee....RockinChair, Opus, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this.
