Without probable cause? LOL Dude they ADMITTED IN EMAILS AND PHONE MESSAGES they gave my stuff away.

It's a slam dunk case. Not to mention this is the same police force that put their lives at risk to save mine. They know me quite personally.

The reason material possessions mattered was because while in rehab someone stole my motorcycle from my house. So not only was I almost murdered, while recovering I was the victim of grand theft auto. I had and still have very little patience with people who steal. ESPECIALLY from someone who is in a compromised position, elderly, someone in the hospital, someone mentally challenged, etc.

By the time I found out my company gave away my stuff I was already out $5,500 dollars for my motorcycle. I was quite sick and tired of finding out my #### was missing. As the old saying goes, the TV was the straw that broke the camels back.

These are my initial thoughts reading the opening story here. I don’t know if it’s just me but if my employee working at my company on the yard got shot six times I would be bending over backwards to accommodate them. I’ll bet this is one of those trucking companies that say “we are all family“. Ask yourself did they act like your family? On the flipside, I wouldn’t expect them to keep my truck for three months. At the end of the day they’ve got a run a business. But I would have expected them to have been upfront and let me get my stuff properly secured via a friend or relative. I mean you were shot six times. What led up to that happening? Was it just a random person trying to rob you or something? Did you get into a dispute with a crazy employee or something? This story is just wild!

At the end of the day you claimed this happened on their yard. Shot six times. The potential liability for something like this is probably off the charts. And if I was owner of that company I would be doing anything and everything you asked me to do to make your life a bit easier.

You are ABSOLUTELY right. But I was not upset they gave my truck away. I was upset they gave my STUFF away. Even my own mom who knows very little about trucking was shocked they would keep my brand new truck sitting like that for as long as I would be gone. So it didn't shock anyone they gave my truck away. It shocked EVERYONE they gave my STUFF away.

But yet, they say "we're all like family." Yet they treat me like the bad guy because I got upset that the director of maintenance didn't call me or notify me and give me the chance to empty the truck. They made decisions with my stuff and that made me very upset.

Nothing really led up to it happening. The guy walked in off the street and shot me. He was unknown to anyone there.

Lots of cases are slam dunks, but if these guys can't get cops to investigate a $150,000 theft, do you really think you'll get an arrest?

Police in Canton MI have zero to do with police in Mississippi.

Did you even read your article? The cops never said they wouldn't do anything. They said because it's an out of state warrant it could take months to get through the system. A truck transported across state lines stolen for parts is a wee bit different than a trucking company stealing a drivers possessions.

    Thanks for playing.

"Even with Walker's address, he couldn't get local authorities to pay a visit."

"Even with two trucks taken from two different states, Welsch said his experience with the FBI was "just a lot of back and forth," and that the agency didn't escalate the situation or show any urgency around getting Walker picked up. "

"Because in these cases fleets are handing the keys off to Walker, it's not technically a matter of grand theft auto when the trucks never return. "

They couldn't get local authorities to do anything (it doesn't take months to get a warrant) and the feds are lethargic, because it's not technically theft.

You can continue to believe that you could get an arrest, but you are very much mistaken.

You obviously don't read your own links.

They said that they have no proof he did it other than a voice on a phone call that might not even be him. I have proof they did it, in their own voice in their own emails.

The FBI are busying chasing MAGA hats. Had they told him he was a Trump supporter they'd have had him in an hour.

And yes, it can take that long, and even with an out of state warrant that's all they can do. You can't tell one state to arrest someone. Doesn't work like that. The FBI really doesn't need to be involved anyway. They could but can choose not to.

The people who stole my stuff aren't in another state, they aren't even in another building.

And like I said in the first reply, this didn't happen in Canton MI or Baltimore MD. This happened in Mississippi. And what those cops do up there plays ZERO part in what cops do down here. And its actually quite laughable that you would use the behavior of cops 1400 miles away to tell me that these cops wouldn't arrest this person based on my evidence.

Less than 20% of reported property crimes result in an arrest.

You can believe what you want, but it's a fantasy.

Because they don't know who did it, not because they just let the crime go.

This guy was arrested for stealing cigarettes.

Now if you think someone who steals a TV, inverter, etc will walk when a guy who steals a couple of cartons of cigs ends up on the news and arrested, you're nuts. We don't play those games down here. Stealing is stealing. Doesn't matter how much. If you can get arrested for stealing a candy bar at Wal Mart then you can get arrested for stealing a TV and inverter.

This guy was arrested for stealing a bicycle from a college campus:

One case where there is video evidence and another where a known theif runs from a cop (in California).

What Monroe's clearance rate for property crimes?
