I just put sumitomo’s on. I wasn’t impressed with Michelin’s. Bridgestone was ok, but still didn’t get but 120,000 out of them. Sumitomo was 250 a tire cheaper.

I get that too. Wondered if that might be a factor in that choice.

    Sure It’s worth looking into
I put a 315 on a different rim this morning so I am still safe at 20k but it looks kinda stupid that way.

FerrissWheel, D.Tibbitt, CAXPT and 3 others Thank this.

315s to 20k? I would be amazed if you could get 14k on the steer axle of your Ford with the neck on your lowboy.

I doubt I can get 20 but I know I can get over 17k. 20 ply 315s are safe for between 9-10k each not saying that is leagal but… Last time I scaled something heavy it was 17xxxfront 47xxx drives and 52xxx trailer
The truck is only 248wb (short hood makes it look longer) at the time the king pin was 36 inches in front of the center of the tandem

Perfectly legal to load 315’s here to 20k. As long as the tire is rated for it.
