I will give myself a hint:my goal isn’t really to get to the destination. If I make it to destination that’s just a bonus

    Life's a journey, not a destination.

I'm going from DFW to the twin cities, so I'm looking forward to stopping at places along the way. That truck stop on the exit going to Oklahoma state sells rotisserie chickens that are savory and delicious plus a funky gift shop so I'm going to stop in there.

Every place I go I try to focus on a pleasant memory I have had of someone I have met there, like Bev the waitress that worked at the Iron Skillet in Carlisle PA. She was the greatest of all time. I never had to ask for anything or wait for the check etc. Same thing with the C in-store atJo Jo's at exit 106 in Arkansas. Man or woman behind the register, they're just real down home and friendly. I'll go in there and buy something I don't even need just to feel the warmth and human connection.

There are various ways to have FUN in Trucking, including having FUN driving.
My idea of FUN was travelling just a little bit slower than the posted limits.
Usually received that wonderful 1 finger salute AND sometimes the saluter received one too.
It was nice to share the concern or honk the loud tune when the passer was pulled over somewhere by smokey or local, :biggrin_2559::salute:.

Parking on Fuel Islands the furthest from Building(s), when/where possible then having some tosser park behind me and whine why I no move yet no other Lane closed. Usually was good for a reverse move to "check 5th wheel lock" as well confirm :knob: had working horn, then pull almost all the way through and stop or jest depart that scene.

In the Northeast it'll be Hookers and SNOW.

    Be careful with Hookups.

Lets think, in years gone by, I can think of a number of things that made trucking enjoyable, like when women wore dresses and in the summer they would show you some "sights" but now the women are wearing pants, like men, and looking down in cars ain't too much fun. And then, I can recall when a few truck stops had "working ladies of the night" serving you coffee in Styrofoam cups and asking if there would be anything else? Now, I cannot tell you a truck stop that you can "window shop" in. So, what makes trucking "enjoyable today", #### if I know.

well not sure if its fun, probably more educational, possibly desperation.

I listen to a lot of pod casts, from unsolved crimes to sciences around climate and pollution, conservations with interesting people or successful entrepreneurs, topics like growing hydroponic tiny vegetables under the house.
Also listen to talk back radio that is fairly balanced and not overly opinionated.
Got good themed play lists to match the mood.
And I think a lot. Or ask myself what if questions, or how can I, or who would buy. In effect attempting to change career for the better using time available.

I'd rather sit on a beach watching kangaroos than in a truck watching dickheads in cars. Well thats the goal.
