3406B fuel screws and egt question

    Hello everyone. First time posting on here. Back in May of this year I purchased a 95 Freightliner with a 7cx 3406b motor. It was rebuilt 100,000 miles prior and set at 425 hp. I ran it all summer that way with no pyrometer. I decided that I wanted to back the fuel screws out so I installed a pyrometer (post turbo 6 inches from flange) and have backed the screws out a total of three turns. (I did it in steps of one turn each time). I also adjusted the air fuel ratio screw all the way in. Before turning the screws out, I would see temps of up to 900 on the pyrometer pulling a good hill but not lugging the truck below 1500 RPMs. The ambient air temp may have been in the low 70s. Now that the screws are turned out I can easily get it up to 950 with the same ambient air temp, before backing out of it. It is then difficult to keep it under 950 when pulling a hill. My question to you all, is this normal for those air temperatures? Now that it was in the 40s today I could not get it above 850. I'm really happy with the way the truck runs but I wasn't sure if this was worth diagnosing further, for example checking for clogged CAC piping or boost leaks. I'm worried about summertime here in PA where it easily gets up to the 90s and humid for long periods at a time. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!
