Sadly that moron is the norm rather then exception and will likely plow into a parked truck or disabled truck on the shoulder in short order. That said good on those guys for showing him up. Although ive seen that backfire and the guy go to his sleeper or to get a shower and refuse to move until the wrecker shows up and starts hooking up.

That's not an oilfield trucker, that's a freight hauler who thought he could come out here and make money. He doesn't deserve to be called an oilfield trucker.

The fact that he can't back up is probably why he decided to camp on the fuel island in the first place.

And what POS truck stop at that that only has one pump working?!?

Also, I'm about to say something I've never said in over 10 years of oilfield work: that's a good-looking winch truck.

I was refering to the winch truck as the oilfield truck, not dingus in the Volvo.

I don't miss much about the oilfield, but working a 49k# C500 to it's limit is something I do miss! Ain't nothing like being backed up on a 10' ramp pulling on the draworks of a compound rig, and having the front end come up past horizontal!

I got a chuckle out of that one.

That non-backer would never make it as a peddle hand without a load of special treatment.
