I ain't saying whatvI've done to outrun a blizzard, but how do you know these guys didn't get stuck because of some other reason?

And what's the difference? Stuck 300 miles away because of the snow, or stuck in the snow, still stuck because of it.

Some deal with it, some beech about, some blame winter that they can't make a livin.

I'll agree with the big boy britches.

Some sit home and look out the window and make no money instead of being stuck in a truck making no money.

I have been in the very very worst that I-80 has to offer. I would never ever choose to do it again.

    It just sucks.

You know how many times I've heard the weather guys predict huge blizzards and all the local schools canceled classes the night before. I still went to work and come morning there wasn't a single flake of snow. Happens almost every year

lake effect is very very predictable over here. Rarely wrong about lake effect snow.

If anything they usually underestimate what the Great Lakes are capable of!

I can’t speak for any of those people in New York, but I for one don’t usually pay much attention to the forecast as it is almost always wrong. Around here, any time there is a big blizzard in the forecast, everyone makes a big fuss and there’s a whole bunch of panic and warnings and closures.... only to have a few inches fall and it’s no big deal.

I just take it as it comes. Would I venture out if there was already a foot of snow on the road? Probably not. But I don’t hide under my blankie every time I see a snow flake either. LOL

You'll probably have to add context for some here to understand...
