Kenworth cab rivet rust

    I am looking at another older w900 and several of the rivets that hold the cab panels together are rusting ( mostly on the back wall of the cab) What is the best solution to this problem?

    Rusting ? .or do you mean corroding ?
    The best solution to that issue is..Don't buy it ...Walk away ..
    To fix that problem. Correctly is not cheap..is not easy.. and its like Herpes it will stay with you forever

    Pretty much. Your likely looking at between 5 and 10k to get it done right maybe more if the damage is extensive enough. And thats with just surface rust. Gotta sand prime paint and cleae coat. If the rivits are corroded you gotta replace them which is a whole ordeal in and of its self. Hell after my wreck i popped just 8 rivits on my cab on the impact side where they bounced off. on the repair quote just that was listed at over 10k. Was actully cheaper to reseat my front axle and replace the entire steering linkage then the body work.

    Those aren't rivits anyway they are huck bolts .. I forgot to state that in my 1st post

    Yep you’re right, they’re huck bolts but I figured everyone would get the idea with less confusion. And these particular ones are steel and rusting as in red color like a frame so I didn’t think corroding was the right term. Sounds like the bottom line is look elsewhere…
